A 24-year-old man was arrested in Texas. He is charged with murdering a 61-year-old grandfather. Jorge Arbaiza bought Happy Meals for his grandchildren. The incident occurred at a McDonald’s in Harris County. Police confirmed the details.
The shooting happened Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in northwest Harris County. Antoine Ridge is charged with murder. The victim, Jorge Arbaiza, was in line. The restaurant was full of customers. Many children were present.
Investigations revealed a prior fight. A group of young people argued with another. The dispute quickly escalated to violence. Several shots rang out inside. Arbaiza was not involved. He was buying dinner.
Sheriff Ed Gonzalez reported the tragic event. Arbaiza sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He collapsed and died at the scene. His last act was making the sign of the cross. The sheriff expressed his shock.
Arbaiza was pronounced dead at the local hospital. Another person, 25, was injured. This person was involved in the initial fight. He is expected to fully recover. The investigation continues.

Antoine Ridge had a prior criminal record. This included assault and reckless driving. He also had incidents in Florida. Ridge is held in Harris County jail. His bond was set at one million dollars. His next hearing is Monday.
